About Paulaner

Since 1634, Paulaner has stood for Bavarian brewing tradition of the highest quality

The History

Paulaner was founded in 1634 by the Paulaner monks in Munich. As one of Munich's oldest breweries, Paulaner stands for tradition, quality and the Bavarian way of life.

The wheat beer, for which Paulaner is world-famous, is brewed according to the original Bavarian Purity Law of 1516.

Our Expertise

At Salvator, we are proud to be one of the few establishments in Bonn to offer the complete Paulaner range.

Our team is regularly trained to provide you with the perfect beer experience -- from proper storage to professional tapping.

Perfect Beer & Food Pairings

🍺 Hefe-Weissbier + Schweinshaxe

The freshness of the wheat beer perfectly complements the seasoning of the crispy pork knuckle. A classic of Bavarian cuisine!

🍻 Munich Helles + Schnitzel

The mild Helles pairs wonderfully with our crispy Wiener Schnitzel. Perfect for after work!

🍋 Radler + Cheese Spaetzle

The lightness of the Radler perfectly balances the creamy, cheesy spaetzle. Ideal for warm days in the beer garden!

🥤 Paulaner Spezi + Weisswurst

For the traditional Weisswurst breakfast, the bittersweet Spezi is a refreshing alternative to wheat beer.

Paulaner: 400 Years of Munich Brewing Tradition

The History of Paulaner Beer

Since 1634, the monks of the Paulaner Order in Munich have brewed the famous "Salvator" strong beer. What began as a Lenten beer for the monks developed into one of Bavaria's most traditional breweries.

The name "Salvator" (our namesake!) was the world's first Marzen beer and is still brewed according to the original 1629 recipe. We tap it fresh from Munich every day.

💡 Did you know? Our pub is named "Salvator" in honor of the famous Paulaner strong beer!
